Are you dying, Dancers??? Well, you should be….
Serena Williams is joined by a precious little lamb on the February 2018 cover of Vogue magazine, her baby girl Alexis Olympia!
“This is a moment I will never forget,” the tennis champion tweeted to her followers on Wednesday after the cover was revealed.
Check out highlights and spread from her family, which also features her husband, internet entrepreneur Alexis Ohanian, Sr., below:
On how her daughter has changed her goals and future: “To be honest, there’s something really attractive about the idea of moving to San Francisco and just being a mom. But not yet. Maybe this goes without saying, but it needs to be said in a powerful way: I absolutely want more Grand Slams. I’m well aware of the record books, unfortunately. It’s not a secret that I have my sights on 25.”
On some of the pitfalls of motherhood: “Sometimes I get really down and feel like, Man, I can’t do this. It’s that same negative attitude I have on the court sometimes. I guess that’s just who I am. No one talks about the low moments—the pressure you feel, the incredible letdown every time you hear the baby cry. I’ve broken down I don’t know how many times.”
Alexis on his wife having to undergo an emergency C-section due to her baby girl’s low heart rate during contractions, and six days later doctors finding a large hematoma had flooded her abdomen: “I was so happy to change diapers, but on top of everything she was going through, the feeling of not being able to help made it even harder.”
On returning to tennis: “There hasn’t been a clear No. 1 since I was there. It will be cool to see if I get there again, to what I call my spot — where I feel I belong.”
