This is an incredibly heartbreaking story.
An 18-year-old woman by the name of Kamiyah Mobley was reunited with her biological parents after she was stolen from a hospital almost two decades ago. Mobley had no idea that the man and woman who raised her were NOT her biological parents.
Her alleged abductor, whom she assumed was her mother – Gloria Williams, 51 – posed as a health care worker and took her from a Jacksonville, Florida, hospital maternity ward. Williams was arrested Friday at her home in Walterboro, South Carolina. Charles Manigo is the man Kamiyah called “dad” for her whole life.
“I named her — a a name I had for a year,” a tearful Manigo told ABC News in a new interview. ”She was the love of my life.”
“I talk to her [Kamiyah] every day,” Manigo said. “The attention is overwhelming to her. She’s still processing everything. It’s a shock to me, it’s a bigger shock to her.”
I’m quite sure.
Kamiyah had the opportunity to reunite with her biological parents, father Craig Aiken and mother Shanara Mobley, on Saturday in a 45-minute private reunion at the Walterboro Police Department on Saturday.
“It’s a feeling that you can’t explain. It’s hard to put into words right now. We are just trying to process it — 18 years. It’s going to be hard to make that up. I just can’t describe it,” Aiken said after the reunion at the Walterboro Police Department.
