Whenever there are wide success stories, critic and naysayers are sure to follow!
Actor O’Shea Jackson Jr. has been experiencing this first hand after KILLING IT in his role as his father, hip-hop mogul/actor Ice Cube, in the blockbuster movie Straight Outta Compton.
Jackson is responding to those critics who shout nepotism for scoring the role!
“That kills me, that stuff. It hurts. How could you not be happy for me?” O’Shea asked in an interview with The Guardian. “The people out there who believe it was nepotism, they don’t know the process. There was gonna be no one as passionate as I was. People should be applauding someone who’s able to take this family legacy and build on it, to further work on this empire my father built from the ground up. It’s all about my father. Everything I did was just to make him proud.”
